Frequently asked

Good questions, straight answers.

Are your courses nationally accredited?

Standard MHFA, Youth MHFA and Apply First Aid issue nationally accredited certificates. Our specialist short courses (Suicidal Person, NSSI, Gambling) are MHFA Australia-authored focused courses. We're always clear about which is which.

Do you deliver at our workplace?

Yes. We deliver on-site across Perth metro and regional WA, or in our Rockingham training rooms. Workplace courses are tailored to your team and industry context.

How long is the MHFA accreditation valid?

MHFA accreditation as a Mental Health First Aider is valid for three years, after which a refresher renews it.

Is Mental Health First Aid the same as counselling?

No. MHFA teaches you to provide initial support until professional help is available - it is not therapy or clinical treatment. It's the bridge to professional care.

How do I book a public course?

Public course dates and tickets are managed on Eventbrite. You can also call or send an enquiry and we'll help you find the right date.

Acknowledgement of Country

Passionate Lives acknowledges the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, train and gather. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge that mental health and social and emotional wellbeing services for First Nations peoples are most effectively delivered with cultural understanding at the centre.
