1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to Passionate Lives (“we”, “us”, “our”), a Mental Health First Aid training provider based in Perth, Western Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information openly and transparently, in line with APP 1 (open and transparent management of personal information).

2. What we collect

We may collect the following personal information:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and organisation;
  • Course enquiry and booking details;
  • Information you provide in forms, emails, or over the phone;
  • For accredited courses, the information required to issue your nationally accredited certificate;
  • Limited technical data (such as anonymised analytics) when you use this website.

We collect personal information directly from you wherever practicable, and will notify you of the matters required under APP 5 (notification of the collection of personal information) at or before the time we collect it.

3. Why we collect it and how we use it

In accordance with APP 6 (use or disclosure of personal information), we use your personal information only for the purpose it was collected, or a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, including to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and arrange training;
  • Process course bookings and issue certificates;
  • Provide ongoing support to course participants;
  • Meet our obligations as an Authorised Instructor of MHFA Australia and under accreditation frameworks;
  • Improve our services and this website.

4. Marketing and your consent

We will only send you marketing communications where you have consented, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email identifies us and includes a simple way to unsubscribe. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link.

5. Disclosure of your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it to trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, our booking platform Eventbrite, and MHFA Australia for accreditation and certificate purposes), and only as needed for those purposes. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure these parties handle your information consistently with the APPs.

6. Keeping your information secure

In line with APP 11 (security of personal information), we take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. When information is no longer needed and we are not required to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

7. Accessing and correcting your information

Under APP 12 (access) and APP 13 (correction), you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading. To make a request, contact us at admin@passionatelives.com.au.

8. Cookies and this website

This website uses essential cookies to function, and may use optional analytics cookies only where you consent via our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. We do not place personal information in URLs, and we present accept and reject options with equal prominence.

9. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at admin@passionatelives.com.au so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law, including forthcoming amendments to the Privacy Act. The current version is always available on this page.
